How Does This Work?

You create a free account and set a Gmail filter to forward your Ingress email damage reports.

The damage reports are processed in realtime into the Outgress analytics and alerting engine.

That's the short version.

Is This Allowed?

We believe so, but you decide.

But My Secret Data!

No one on the opposing faction cares who on their team is attacking you. Do you care who on your team is attacking opposing portals?

Google says it needs to verify I have permission from the owner (damage@outgress.com) to forward

  1. What email should I give GMail for the verification?

    Thanks!

It should automatically confirm the forwarding request. Is it still asking for a confirmation code if you reload it?

  3. Yeah - when trying to add damage@outgress.com it basically wants to verify that the owner of that address is willing to get those forwards...

  4. The exact message is: "Before you can forward to this address, we need to verify that you have permission from the owner. Enter an email address below and we will then send an email to that address with instructions on how to verify permission"

Ya, but it's supposed to auto-confirm. Can you send a screenshot of what you are seeing by chance?

Okay... did a little digging since I had never seen that message before or that Gmail interface.

It looks like you are using an old Gmail interface designed for slower computers (at the bottom it probably says you are in "basic HTML" mode). From what I can gather, it looks like the error messages on that page are a little misleading. Specifically, if you try to add damage@outgress.com as a forwarding address even when it's already properly set up as a valid forwarding address, you will get what you see in the screenshot. The red part is the error message, the rest of it is basically asking you again if you there's a different email you want to add.

So the best I can tell, it's already set up properly in your account. If you go to your Forwarding and POP/IMAP settings now, do you end up with something that looks sort of like this (I say sort of because this is a screenshot with the normal Gmail interface)?

If you see damage@outgress.com as a an address in the drop down that you could forward email to, then it's already setup/confirmed/verified, etc. and you should move on to the next step.

  8. I think that was it! Now I just need to wait for someone to attack me :)
