How Does This Work?

You create a free account and set a Gmail filter to forward your Ingress email damage reports.

The damage reports are processed in realtime into the Outgress analytics and alerting engine.

That's the short version.

Is This Allowed?

We believe so, but you decide.

But My Secret Data!

No one on the opposing faction cares who on their team is attacking you. Do you care who on your team is attacking opposing portals?

IFTTT Maker Channel destination

IFTTT is a very flexible service that lets users create custom recipes for hooking up 300+ different services. They also provide the IFTTT "Maker Channel" so that DIY projects can trigger actions via a webhook. If Outgress could post to its API, then an attack alert could trigger anything from flashing a light to a phone call to turning down your thermostat to cool off your overheating angry head. :) It could also bridge to a lot of other APIs without having to spend time to implement them.

Unfortunately IFTTT only takes 3 parameters, or 4 if you count the event name (which is used for determining which recipe to trigger). If making the parameters configurable is inconvenient, I would suggest portal name and attacker for the first 2 values, and some delimited combination of all parameters for value3. (IFTTT can't parse it directly, but can pass it on to stuff that can, like a Google Spreadsheet.) The event and key, of course, should be configurable.

The other option would be to make the custom callback destination more flexible so that it takes a template for the URL and body to post to the URL, but I am guessing that would be more work.
