How Does This Work?

You create a free account and set a Gmail filter to forward your Ingress email damage reports.

The damage reports are processed in realtime into the Outgress analytics and alerting engine.

That's the short version.

Is This Allowed?

We believe so, but you decide.

But My Secret Data!

No one on the opposing faction cares who on their team is attacking you. Do you care who on your team is attacking opposing portals?

Unable to see all portals if I compare to ingress intel map

  1. Hello, new member here and a possible newbie question (in fact, 2 questions):

I just want to know if the portals that are on this intel is based on attacks reports only? There's a ton of portals missing in my area if I compare the intel ingress map to the outgress one. I've sent an email to get all my data dump from Niantic, if it's the case it should populate a lot the intel. For example, on a small area near my current location, more than 20 portals are not represented here (see picture above - an overlay between ingress and outgress map)

Also if it's the case, could I import (or could you) import data from non-members or it's a thing for members only?

    Many thanks!

    Major Broil

Yes, Outgress data is primarily from email damage reports. The first time it sees an email related to that portal (it’s attacked or a link is broken to that portal) it would be represented in the system.

If you request your user data from Niantic and import it, the missing portals will also populate (although in that case, they populate with an “Unknown” name because the data dump doesn’t include names). Then when those unknown portals are first seen in an email, the name is set properly, but at least they are represented on the map.

  3. And for the second question, "could I import (or could you) import data from non-members in order to populate my area?"

Yes, you can import your data dump you get from Niantic if that’s what you mean?

Or if something else, what *exactly* are you trying to import? Like what is the source of the data?

  5. Well, on top of my data dump (not yet received by Niantic), my question is: Could I use the data dump from a non-member of outgress (let say a friend who have more experiences and portals) and inject it here? Or it's user-related? What I'm trying to do is to populate as much as possible undiscovered/missing portals within outgress GUI

It’s user related. Specifically if you use their data dump, it will flag you has having owned the portal they have owned. Your better option would be to have them import their own data dump.
